Print designs

To develop my woven fabrics I made some print designs on photoshop based on my research.

Im a bit rubbish at photoshop!

New York

After visiting New York and taking lots of photos of skyscrapers and art deco architecture and details I have done lots of line drawings then illustrated in the same style and colours as the Pink Panther cartoons.

Pink Panther

Recently I have been watching old Pink Panther cartoons form the 60's and 70's and have been inspired by the colours and style of illustration.

Holes

This was an interiors project which I based on holes.

Moodboard of sketchbook images and colour scheme.

Woven samples

After weaving the samples I oxidised copper filings and copper pipe onto the fabric to create the turquiose rings.

Vanners

The Timothy Everest project was a competition to have your jacket fabric woven up and made into a suit by their tailors. The design team came to watch our presentation day as well as the director from Vanners silk mill. He chose my tie designs to be made up at the mill and made into ties! I went to the mill for the day in Suffolk to see my fabric being made up on the industrial looms.

Here is the finished tie! I am so happy with it. I got to of them and 1 metre of the fabric. I am keeping one for my portfolio and one is being passed round people to wear because I can't decide who to give it to.

I love it!
